CAMICO named Andrew M. Eassa, CPA, CVA, as chairman of the company’s board of directors at the CAMICO annual meeting last June.
Eassa succeeds Robert P. Evans, CPA, who served as chairman from 2012 to 2018. Evans will continue to serve on the CAMICO board of directors.
Eassa was appointed to the CAMICO board of directors in 2007 and served as chairman of the risk management committee, chairman of the governance committee, and a member of the investment committee. He is a founding principal of Firley, Moran, Freer & Eassa, CPA, P.C., a public accounting firm based in Syracuse, N.Y., with business clientele throughout upstate New York and the northeastern United States. He was the firm’s managing principal from 2000 to 2013 and has more than 45 years of experience in business valuation, litigation support, financial analysis, strategic planning, accounting and auditing, and tax-related compliance.
He is a member of the AICPA, the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, and the Niagara University Accounting Department Advisory Board. Eassa is past president of the Syracuse chapter of the NYSSCPA and past statewide vice president for the chapters. In recognition of his distinguished and exceptional public service and accomplishments, the NYSSCPA presented him with the Arthur J. Dixon Public Service Award in 2006. Niagara University presented him with the Distinguished Accounting Alumni Award in 2011.
“Andy’s leadership on the CAMICO board of directors over the past 11 years has been instrumental in CAMICO’s success in further strengthening our program and providing even more effective insurance and risk management services to our policyholders,” said Evans.
“I’m looking forward to serving CAMICO policyholders as their chairman of the board and to pursuing CAMICO’s mission to anticipate and address the evolving needs of CPAs,” said Eassa.
